“The People’s House” allows users to compare congressional district makeup versus that of congress (pre 2014 election), and to compare his or her own district’s statistics against the other 434.

All of the charts and grayscale maps are rendered with D3, and the geocoding and mapping are both done using Mapbox. Once the entered location has been geocoded, the application requests the matching congressional district for that location’s latitude and longitude coordinates from an API provided by Mobile Commons.

Additionally, users are able to share district results (without sharing their entered locations) to Facebook or Twitter using the share buttons associated with each district’s results.
