The Cord Cutter came about as a collaboration between Vox Product and The Verge. This project was designed and developed in under 24 hours and quickly became one of the post popular pieces on the site.
The graphic pulls data from Google spreadsheets using the Google Drive extension for Middleman. The user's estimated package cost is recalculated every time he or she selects or deselects an available package. When finished, the graphic also allows the user to share this estimated package cost on twitter.
This payed off really well for our team considering the small amount of time that we invested in it. And hey, we even made it onto TV.
